Other features
All-through school (for example 3-18 years). - An all-through school covers junior and senior education. It may start at 3 or 4, or later, and continue through to 16 or 18. Some all-through schools set exams at 11 or 13 that pupils must pass to move on.

Since 2019, Dan Gillespie BEd. Grew up locally and graduated in sports leadership from Reading University. Teacher training and first job was at Claire’s Court School, before he left to establish his own business in sport and education consulting. Using sport as a tool for social change, he worked with children from deprived backgrounds and at risk of exclusion and noticed a gap in provision for their needs. Returned to Claire’s Court as SENCo/assistant head to junior boys before joining the embryonic Beech Lodge team as headteacher. Has overseen the school moving to bespoke accommodation and swelling to double its size, with specialism in trauma and school avoidance. ‘It’s an environment where they think they are going to achieve.’
