What The Good Schools Guide says..
The curriculum is used as a stimulus for art work in the school, with the usual array of Viking boats and Roman villages but there is stronger emphasis on materials and learning skills than in most schools. Children learn how to cut metal and throw pots by working side by side with craft professionals. Working alongside a skilled crafts person develops a different relationship so pupils are not just engaged in academic learning but also fulfilling many of the targets set by the form tutors including social skills.

What The Good Schools Guide says
Headteacher
Since 2022, Mr Alan Harrison.
Entrance
While many children would benefit from the intensive support and therapeutic environment the school offers, the important thing is that they fit the community and are in a position to make the most of the opportunities on offer.
Assessment is not necessarily based on ability or achievement as many have had long periods out of education, but they have to have a level of curiosity and be interested in the world around them. They try one or more crafts during the assessment process, and in cases of selective mutism staff look carefully at body language.
