Parents initially attracted by the impressive glass, bricks and mortar (and short commute to the city) may get even more than they bargained for inside, as this venue is specifically designed to prepare children for careers that don’t yet exist (as well as those that do). The new jewel in Brentwood Prep’s crown is the multimillion-pound RIBA-awarded STEAM building which opened in 2020 and immediately became the focal point of the campus and also the curriculum. Since September 2024, Alice Goodfellow, who joined the school in 2019 as deputy head responsible for staffing, co-curricular and operations; she is also part of the religion and philosophy department. Began her teaching career after working as a policy advisor on climate change and sustainability for the Department of Communities and Local Government. She holds two masters’ - in globalisation and postnational communication (SOAS) and in education (IoE). Prior to joining Brentwood, she was vice principal for teaching and learning and for curriculum at UCL Academy in Camden, London and before that, assistant principal at Hendon School in North West London.
