What the school says...
Claremont is a wonderful and unique environment. A local school with a genuinely international perspective, it is a modern and progressive environment that reflects the rapidly changing world we are living in.
This is a school that does not define success in narrow terms. Whether preparing students for Russell Group universities, degree level apprenticeships or careers in the arts or sport, we understand that every young person in our care has their own road to travel. With an outstanding academic provision, an award-winning performing arts offering and a successful football academy we aim to provide a platform where confidence can grow and where learning is central to everything we do. Claremont students can become their best, whatever that may look like.
Claremont has a rich history as a co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 1 to 18 years. Established in 1925, the nursery, pre-prep and prep school is set on an 125 acre estate in St Leonards. In 2011, the senior school was founded in the historic village of Bodiam. Starting with 40 students, it is now a well-established centre of learning with a vibrant sixth form and two newly refurbished boarding houses. More than 600 students are educated across the different sections of the school.
In February 2018, Claremont School became a member of the International Schols Partnership (ISP), the flagship in a portfolio of 85 schools across five continents. This puts Claremont in a unique position in the region. As well as providing significant investment to already impressive facilities, ISP has also brought unique international learning opportunities for our students, including extensive cultural exchanges and access to global competitions and educational innovation.
At Claremont, we facilitate creativity, academic excellence and independence within a supportive and nurturing environment. We are a caring and considerate school, where all of our students value the opportunities they have been given, forever mindful of those less fortunate than themselves. We welcome pupils from all walks of life and place pupils at the very centre of their own learning. So, whatever your belief, creed, ability (academic or otherwise), you really can find yourself at Claremont. ...Read more

Special Education Needs
Claremont is committed to being an inclusive school. Our intention is to help every child who comes to our school to enjoy positive learning experiences and to achieve their full potential. We offer a calm, caring environment and compassionate, committed staff who are keen to help your child succeed and also to form a close working partnership with you. In the classrooms, all teachers are required to teach pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND); they provide quality first teaching which takes account of the particular individual needs of pupils with SEND. A more detailed report of how we can support your child can be found on our website: www.claremontschool.co.uk/learning/learning-support/
