Special Education Needs
Every girl is treated as an individual. Special individual needs include: those of the exceptionally able; those with mild learning difficulties; those with physical difficulties; those whose religious or other commitments who require special consideration. A specialist co-ordinater works, across the age range (4 - 18), and closely with, the co-ordinator for gifted and talented, the pastoral heads and senior management. There are on-going observations by subject staff of year groups, the feedback from which is followed up by the specialist staff. Girls with known medical conditions are on a special medical register and the school nurse holds individual medical plans. All staff are expected to familiarize themselves with girls' needs on a need-to-know basis. Special provision is made for those who need to miss school, or fast, for religious reasons.
