What says..

Hands up all those for whom ‘Hands up!’ in class is terrifying – extreme introverts, sufferers of anxiety, victims of bullying to name but a few. Many of these – as well as families that are keen, but geographically unable, to access the English curriculum and exams – told us King's InterHigh is tantamount to striking gold. Maximum of 20 students per live lesson, of which there are two (40 minutes each) per subject per week for younger students, increasing to three at I/GCSE (more for English and maths) and seven at A level or IB. Over 100 clubs. Yes, really. ‘I did horse riding club – discussing not doing! – and Minecraft and found them a nice way to meet new people as it mixes the year groups,’ said a student, although some parents fear…

What the school says...

King’s InterHigh is a leading British international school that revolves around you. Whatever your child’s passions and wherever they aspire to go, we bring each student a tailored pathway to a bright future with personalised, supportive, world-class online learning.

Here, you don’t need to sacrifice quality for flexibility. Fully qualified, highly experienced and passionate educators – who are experts in their subjects – are the heart of our academics. Every school day, they bring learning to life in our state-of-the-art virtual classrooms, combining traditional pedagogy with cutting-edge innovation. In any given lesson at King’s InterHigh, your child may collaborate with classmates on group work, go back in time with virtual reality (VR) headsets or dive into online and offline learning activities.

When your child can’t join live classes, they’ll be able to access their lessons at any time with 24/7 recordings and resources. Our timetables are flexible, with a choice of three time zones worldwide. Whether you live abroad, you love to travel or your child is pursuing big opportunities, we’re all about making school fit around your family. Many of our students balance online learning with globetrotting, sports competitions, acting careers and more – plus more free time means more chances to make family memories together.

All the while, our students build lifelong skills like critical thinking, creativity, tech know-how and global mindedness. The result is an education experience that prepares your child not only for success in exams, but also for the future. King’s InterHigh opens doors to a world of opportunities and, no matter what your child’s dreams are (top universities or Fortune 500 careers, arts or athletics, entrepreneurship or industry), we support them to get there every step of the way.

While all of our students are forging different paths, they’re always connected in our diverse and vibrant global community and can make lifelong friends that transcend borders. School life is rich at King’s InterHigh and there’s always an activity to get involved with online – from dozens of clubs around a range of interests to events like our international food festival or a virtual art exhibit in our very own virtual reality space.

On top of social opportunities, we’re also committed to fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment with support for wellbeing and development. All students enjoy initiatives like weekly tutor group sessions, assemblies to celebrate success and expert guidance for exams and university. Families can also take advantage of options such as workshops for challenges like anxiety and specialised support for special educational needs (SEND).

School life continues in person too, with a range of school trips, meet-up opportunities and more throughout the year. As part of Inspired Education, the world’s largest group of premium schools, we also bring students opportunities like summer camps, exchange programmes and educational initiatives with students in over 110 physical schools worldwide.

With almost 20 years of expertise in online education – and the best practices of Inspired – we strive to bring your child an unmatched education.

What The Good Schools Guide says

Executive head

Since July 2023, Catriona Olsen. Raised in Ireland, where she gained her degree in information systems management from Galway before moving to Scotland to do her PGDE (with secondary school computing specialism) at Edinburgh. Stayed there for first teaching job – in Penicuik, as computing and ICT teacher, then headed south of the border to London Academy Edgware for six years, becoming assistant principal. Next up was a move to South Africa (her husband is South African) where she worked her way up to college lead for one of Inspired Education’s physical schools. That’s when the phone call came in to say Inspired had acquired Wey Education (previous owners of King’s InterHigh) – did she fancy applying to run King’s InterHigh senior school? You bet she did. ‘I’d already been in discussions with...
