Headmaster

Since September 2023, Paul David, previously head of Dulwich Prep Cranbrook. Brought up in Cornwall, then studied maths and PE at the University of Exeter. He started his teaching career at secondary school level and was housemaster of City of London Freemen’s. He was deputy head of Colet Court (now St Paul’s Juniors), where he taught maths in both the prep and senior school. He then became head of Eaton Square School for eight years. He was ‘blown away’ by the atmosphere at Wetherby when he arrived, describing it as ‘a happy, fun place where boys love learning – the progress they make is phenomenal’, moving at pace from day one. He is warm and thoughtful, and parents feel their sons are in safe hands with him; ‘he knew all the boys’ names...

Wetherby has a strong team of specialist teachers who work alongside the class teachers and are able to provide 1:1 support for children with difficulties in literacy and maths. All staff at Wetherby are conversant with different learning styles and the learning support provided is a particular strength of a school with high academic standards.
